Fleet Foxes - Blue Ridge Mountains (live on Nigel Godrich’s “From the Basement”)
i got this record shortly after it was released last year, and it took a bit to grow on me. i just chalked them up to another pacific northwest band that were searching for the authenticity in folk music that we’re naturally born with here in appalachia. i love this song; while it isn’t particularly true to the roots of blue grass, there’s enough chill in their strings to set you up in the blue ridge mountains… over near tennessee.
